Spanish Hot Chocolate

Blanxart Spanish Hot Drinking Chocolate a la taza bar

Spanish hot chocolate is thicker and richer than what you remember from childhood. This drinking chocolate is perfect for dipping, and is typically served with churros (fried doughnuts) in Spain. Drop in a shot of espresso for a real treat, or add cinnamon, cloves and cayenne and enjoy it the way the Aztecs did.

Instructions
  1. Break the Blanxart a la Taza Chocolate Bar into squares, and put them into a medium-sized, heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir the chocolate, and when it begins to melt, turn the heat down to medium-low.
  3. Continue stirring, and add the milk a few tablespoons at a time, bringing the milk up to temperature and allowing the chocolate to completely melt.
  4. Continue to stir until the chocolate is smooth. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
